Creating My Craft Cave

Finally People! I have started to get my craft room together and I am so excited!! We are on track to be finishing up all the major work by next weekend, so I will have a home to blog, scrapbook, and create all my projects (using my new cricut..yes, that's right, I got one!)

The hubs and I had a roommate our first year in the house, but once we got married we decided we were ready to be on our own and with the departure of the roommate came the creation of the craft cave! Here is the current state.

Yikes..I know! But not for long! This weekend the hubs and I participated in a yard sale in one of our friend's neighborhood; we really did not have much to sell, my goal was to make enough money to buy paint for the craft room...Well, I ended up banking 60 bucks! I was shocked...but I then made the mistake of walking around to the other sales in the neighborhood. And I spotted this IKEA shelf, the woman had 2, the other is still in the box, brand new and she paid $30 a piece. Her husband is in the military and they are moving overseas so they were getting rid of everything! I waited til the end of the sale and kept my fingers crossed that they would still be they, and sure enough they were. I scooped them up for $25 for the set! Jackpot! These will be perfect to put my mason jars full of buttons, and ribbon on!

I also picked up our paint today! I have looked at a lot of colors but had decided we would just wing it...the hubs and I both picked up the same exact color our first grab so we thought it was fate and went with it. Its Valspar Oatlands Subtle Taupe.

The hubs and I also bought a set of white bookcases to put along one of the walls. They are the very simple shelf's, each one was $16, we plan on adding some trim to give them a custom look for a fraction of the cost. Here is some other fun things that will be used in the craft cave.

The hubs grandmother painted this and it was our wedding gift from her. We love it, we got married in the mountains and it reminds of our wedding. So special and she has such talent, it will definitely help inspire me in the craft cave.

I picked these up on clearance at Target about 2 weeks ago, it was still 16 dollars on clearance, but I had to have it. Can't wait to decide where I will hang it up.

(template)

We got a set of these frames as a wedding gift, they are from IKEA. I have a thing for mustaches right now; not in a way where I would ever let the hubs have one, just in that they are so funny. I found this template to make mustache straws for our upcoming Tacky Sweater Party, and I decided to print it out and frame it. I was inspired by this from pinterest, but I was not going to pay $20 bucks for that print...my version was free ninety nine.

Yay! My new and first cricut! Can't wait until I am settled in the craft cave and I'm able spend some time getting to know the cricut!

These are the other 2 frames that was in the set from IKEA. I wanted a sign that same Keep Calm and Craft On, but I couldn't find one in the color I wanted. So when I came across this I thought it was perfect. I just printed it out and framed it. LOVE LOVE free art!

I picked up this picture frame from TJ Maxx on clearance for $5 bucks! I think it will go great with the rest of the decor and I just couldn't pass it up. I put a picture of my mom and I and the hubs and I, and I found this quote and just printed it out. "Someday everything will all make perfect sense, so for now, laugh at the confusion, smile through the tears, and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason." Perfect inspirational quote. The hubs said I can put no more words in the house, but he has no reign over my craft cave...where there's a will there's a way!

Keep posted for all the transformations to come! Can not wait to get this project completed!

Thanks for reading! :)
